'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes contest with City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the thrilling dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative shot from outside the box, and his teammate promptly converted the loose ball before racing off toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory sealed an unbelievable recovery given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a fourth-round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's first-time shot from about way out going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that far out," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right defensive wing after they changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the City players who praised the way his former team attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they always find their target and they are adept at dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at his former club and has quickly replicated that in south Wales. At the London club he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into senior level. I think many athletes would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without serious challenge. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

He has demonstrated that growth for club and country, shining for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including two matches fixtures against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his eye for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This represents an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who grew up watching his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

The player's sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of bitter cold. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he says, grinning. "The week before, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, the transport team, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. Franco is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would mix with fans on public transport after starting his journey at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
